New Blog Award!

This award acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day.

I received this award from RoseAnn at The Social Frog. Thanks so much for this award RoseAnn. I'm very flattered.

I met RoseAnn and found her blog quite recently on twitter. She writes about interesting topics and is a very nice person. If you have not already met her and viewed her blog I suggest you do so now as she is such a great person. Thanks so much RoseAnn for helping me along the way with great advice and directions and for playing my new meme as well as for stopping by my blogs quite regularly.

The rules for this award are as follows:

  1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
  2. Pass the award on to up to 15 blogs that are worthy of the acknowledgment. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

My choices are:

Please note that while not all of these blogs post every day, I though their blogs were still worthy of this award.

Please let me know as your feedback is very useful and I would like to try and write about topics that interest you. Any other feedback would also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Who Dunnit?

Who Dunnit is a game where you tried to figure out who committed a crime. We are going to be playing somewhat of a spin-off of that which  I would like to call who said it? This is supposed to be a fun activity where you figure out where each quote was from. The goal is to identify where each quote was from and who said it (i.e. movie and character). For example if the quote was "To be or not to be that is the question.", you would say it was said by Hamlet from the play Hamlet written by Shakespeare. Unless it is by someone very famous and renowned such as Shakespeare you do not need to say who wrote it.

And now the quotes:

  1.  " Oh, you. You just couldn't let me go, could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You are truly incorruptible, aren't you? Huh? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness. And I won't kill you because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever."
  2. "You shot him in cold blood and threw him off a roof. "
  3. "We're looking for some idiots with no future"
  4. "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try."
  5. "You either give me what I need or this switch will stay on until they turn the power off for lack of payment on the bill. "
  6. "I like escalators because they can never break.  They can only become stairs.  There would never be a escalator-temporarily-out-of-order sign.  There would only be an escalator-has-temporarily-become-stairs.  Sorry for the convenience."

  7. "More or less. Son, I'm sorry. They got us."
  8. "Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?"
  9. "You know the cheese that comes with the nachos? Just the cheese."
  10.  " 'Ello, beastie."
If you enjoyed this you can try my newest Who Dunnit?

Thank you for reading and please let me know what you thought of this. Please post your answers in the comments.

Procrastination

For some reason my article about procrastination popped into my head today, followed by thoughts about procrastinators in general. First off, one idea from my article popped back into my head which was that procrastination can be very helpful and beneficial, you just have to do it right. Then I began thinking about how everybody accuses procrastinators of slacking off and doing nothing while this actually isn't the case. We do not slack off, we just chose to do things that are not what other's think we should be doing. Like instead of doing the dishes, cleaning up our rooms, or doing our work (either for a job or for school), we are doing something else we feel is more important. For example, I should be working right now but instead I am writing this post. Now onto a bit of humor that I was thinking of. Even if you had someone who seemed to be putting absolutely everything off and was just sitting around, you couldn't say they were procrastinating and putting everything off. If you did, they could just respond, "I'm not procrastinating at or putting off procrastinating."

I am interested to hear what you all have to say about my thoughts here as well as what I said in my article.

Thanks for reading,

My New Meme

For those of you who play Meme's please check out my new meme and if interested please play it: The Random Meme. For those of you who are not check it out and see what you think about them. If you have no clue what I am talking about, a Meme is usually either questions to answer or an activity of some sort to do on your own blog, then you post a link on the meme so others can see what you did. I am just starting Meme's but I have heard that they are fun and a good way to meet new people. To see an example of how meme's are used, and to view an interesting blog, check out The Social Frog

Thanks and I hope to see you playing,

Obama and the bird

Be careful how you criticize President Obama
because if you are not careful he may flip you off
too, even if you're on TV. Watch the videos and
tell me if those count as giving Clinton and McCain the finger.

Alison Jae

Alsion Jae is probably the most popular writer and contributor on Triond. I've read a couple of her poems and thought they were great but have you ever wondered how she does it? How she became one of the most popular writers on Triond in just a couple months? I mean she only published her first article on Triond on August 11, 2008. I want to know what made her so popular and how she got so popular on not just all of Triond but on pretty much each individual sub-site of Triond. The other thing I want to know is whether anyone has actually interacted with her. I've never seen or heard of her sending people messages or commenting on their work, have you?

If you have any thoughts about Alison or any stories about interactions with her please, please share them. Any and all discussions and thoughts about this would be very much appreciated.
